Not many people would like to live in an unsafe community with no police protections: whether you live in an affluent neighborhood, a wealthy upscale well-protected Gated community. We all benefit from police protection
When your home gets robbed, the first person you call is the cops. You wouldn’t call a friend or neighbor first. We all live and rely on our Law enforcing public servants. We don’t rely on unarmed auxiliaries if our home is robed. We all agree there are good cops and bad cops, but to defund the police is not the solution. We will not have a utopian society until the Prince of Peace returns.
This rhetorical question again goes to the heart of this book’s contention that all are equal, all play a critical part, and that we are only as strong as our weakest link. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. elegantly expressed this idea when he said: “If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep the streets even as Michelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the host of heaven and earth will pause and say, here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well.”
This essential service and devotion, especially while defunding the police, make Law and order and other essential services worthwhile persons in more ways than a million! Remember also the: • coach • counselor • daycare aide • extended family • nanny • and all those who make a difference in society. They are each worthwhile persons in more ways than a million
